About us

The Fylde Coast and Legal Centre was established due to the clearly high levels of hardship and deprivation within our communities. Many people have to use food banks even those who are working. The extremely high levels of problems caused by increased fuel increases, gas and electricity and the high levels of interest rates, for not only residents but also landlords, is resulting in a scarcity of rented properties - landlords selling their properties - which has resulted in an increase in possession proceedings. We are here to help and support you through the problems.

Many people do not have access to their legal rights. For example, people who have been sanctioned in relation to benefits or have been told they are not sick enough to get a benefit. The ability to obtain legal assistance when a landlord or mortgage company are seeking to evict someone is a problem.

Due to a limitation on funding our staff levels are quite small

Graham Woodward is the Centre's Supervsing Solicitor. He has many years experience in the areas of law that the Centre undertakes and has previously run his own firm.
